🏆SCOTTISH CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS 2025🏆
A few sore heads this morning as we celebrate our victory in Perth yesterday!
First of all, a huge thank you to all who have congratulated the band - we really appreciate your kind words and your support!
We drew number 20 yesterday which made for a long day, but were delighted to deliver our performance of Peter Graham’s ‘Essence of Time’ to a very encouraging audience.
We are so happy that the two esteemed adjudicators, Leigh Baker and Simon Gresswell, enjoyed our performance, describing it as “outstanding” and “different gravy” on the day!
We are also so proud of our Principal Cornet, Dhani Miller, for winning the 4barsrest award for the best soloist!
A huge thank you has to go to our conducting team. To Paul Drury for preparing the piece with the band in the weeks and months leading up to the contest, and to Allan Ramsay for his expert direction and interpretation on stage!
Thanks also to our new recruits, Steven McEwan and Lauren Jackson on percussion and guest David McLeod on 1st trombone, for their commitment and excellent playing to help us to victory!
The band’s next engagement will be our Christmas concert at Bo'ness Parish Church on the 11th of December, we hope to see you there!
